Journaling ~ Putting Pen To Paper

How one feels after a journaling session is a more universal answer and can be summarized as 'lighter'.

Let's look at each of the reasons why we journal, and why you might want to take up journaling if you have not already done so.

Intention Setting

Intention and goal setting provides you with the roadmap to turn dreams into reality. By clearly defining your 'what', 'why' and 'how', you are able to more effectively achieve said goals and intentions. Written goals and intentions are visual aids and daily reminders which helps keep you on track. It is easy to lose sight of what is important and journaling helps make the intangible tangible.

Mindfulness & Gratitude

Count your blessings! Yes, we quickly forget how much we have to be grateful for and by jotting down each thing that you are grateful for makes your heart full and is a powerful mindfulness practise. Not only does it create a sense of purpose and belonging, but it helps to ease anxiety and feelings of insecurity and negativity. Gratitude journaling promotes an overall feeling of happiness which is highly contagious!

Reflection

Filling the pages of your journal with thoughts, emotions and actions from your day can help you organize your thoughts and process or make sense of interactions. Journaling as a reflective tool helps you to sleep better as you expel thoughts that might keep you up at night. If you have a busy mind, keep your journal nearby to easily put pen to paper when needed.

The pen is mightier than the sword! ~ Edward Bulwer Lytton

Can journaling be all three wrapped in one! Journaling can be whatever it needs to be, that's the beauty of it. There is no right or wrong, simply blank pages waiting to be filled.
